Our mission is to create a space that is safe, inclusive, and fun! Everyone is welcome! 

Get washing with our express coin-operated washers and dryers, schedule a pick-up/drop-off or wash & fold laundry service, or reserve a session in our Infrared Sauna if you are the classic busy Squamish local.

The Spot Laundromat Opens

In 2019, Ashleigh Leier opened The Spot Laundromat in Squamish, British Columbia. This small coin-operated laundrette quickly became a beloved community hub, providing affordable laundry services while also acting as a social center for many residents. It was more than a place to clean clothes—it played a key role in promoting hygiene, health, and community connection.

Hope in the Face of Challenge 

In recent times, The Spot faced the threat of closure due to rental changes. With its future in jeopardy, the Spot Laundromat reached out to the Squamish community, petitioning the District Council and local businesses for support.

The potential loss of The Spot would not only affect residents who rely on it for laundry but also create economic ripple effects, impacting nearby businesses that depend on the foot traffic generated by this central hub.


Recognizing the importance of preserving The Spot, a non-profit organization - The Laundry Spot Society was created to help secure its future. The mission of this non-profit was to empower The Spot by providing financial and logistical support, ensuring it could relocate, expand, and continue serving the community.

 

 

Our Success is because of Our Community

 While this effort has allowed the laundromat to remain operational, ongoing community support and engagement are still critical to ensure it continues to thrive as a hub and essential resource. Beyond laundry services, The Spot now offers showers, a sauna, and commercial services, while also providing free essential services to those in need.

 

To preserve this vital space, continued involvement from local residents and businesses is necessary to help it grow and maintain its role in the community.
